Braid is a group artists with diverse backgrounds and interests. Many of us are "group taught" as opposed to self-taught. We learn by working and collaborating with each other, and our clients.
Braid, founded by Rick Berry and Darrel Anderson, has studios in Boston and Colorado. Rick & Darrel have been working as professional artists/illustrators/designers for 30 years. Their work has received awards from The Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, Spectrum, MacWorld Macintosh Masters, Computer Graphics World, and the Truevision International Videographics Competition.
They have taught - Rick at Tufts University, Darrel at Humbolt State - and appeared as guest lecturers at international conferences on diverse topics ranging from Artificial Life to Globalization and China.
Darrel, Rick, and the members and associates of Braid offer their work as evidence -- supporting their belief in art, collaboration, and the genius of friendship.
This site, along with our sister site, paperEye, has a lot of Art much of it available as archival limited edition prints.
We also offer publishing rights to our existing works - as well as our services as illustrators, designers and conceptual artists.
The Braid site contains our illustrative stuff much of which reflects our interest in the speculative and magical.
The paperEye site focuses on our "Fine Art" works mostly abstract and figurative works.
Go to the main Portfolio
page to begin wandering your way through our galleries.
We now offer signed and numbered limited editions of our work. These prints are pulled by us with our Roland Archival Ink Jet press located in our Colorado studio.
Our prints are produced on archival media using pigment based inks (not the fugitive dye inks often associated with Iris "Giclee" prints).
Please see the printmaking
page for more information about the process and our editions.
Print and electronic publishing and/or licensing rights are available for purchase. Fees will vary depending on many factors including; venue, scope of the rights, previous publishing history (if any), etc. Copyrights to all of the work on this site is held by the individual artists. Nothing may be reproduced, linked, or transmitted in any form without written permission from the artist.
Of course, we are also available for original illustration, design and concept work.
